Hello,
Thanks for your work, I'm glad to see everything getting updated ; especially since I'm really, really a huge fan of projectable forces such as marines and paratroopers.
By the way, speaking about WARPAC nations, I had been doing research for a couple months about the NVA DDR, first for airsoft stuff and home rules, then for another famous 15mm Cold War tabletop wargame, and now that I've discovered Battlegroup NORTHAG a month and a half ago, I had been thinking about that as well. Here's my try at whipping up a NVA Motor Rifles list based on my research, what do you think about it? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JLwFVOWJD8TGTELsRsRsTGE9M3OErm68/view?usp=sharing
Of course, I'm not pretending to be someone from the official team of anything, please think of it as "fan fiction" more than anything else.
Edit : the page overlay has been massacred by the conversion from ODT to PDF, I hope it's still readable... Also, it has a couple typos that I'll clean up later on.

Hi Kirill_GV001
Well I think you've done a great job which will really help push me to complete the East German Tank and Motor Rifle Lists that I've already started. You've got some excellent information in there and a lot of stuff I need to look into further.
Again - well done and much appreciated.
Richard

Hi Rich
Back again with some more, (MR Div v.2.1 and Armd Div v. 4.1)
1) pg 19 (AD), 2s4 and 2s5 are still 2s3 in write-ups. pg 21 (MRD) 2s4 is still 2s3 in same.
2) pg 15 (MRD) 240mm mtr is still 1-2 1-2 240mm mtr in Frontal Arty
3) pg 19 (AD) and pg 21 (MRD) 9k22 is 'anti-craft' ?
4) pg 23 (MRD) and pg 21 (AD) 9k34 title correct (SA-14), but is SA-7 in write-up
AD = Armoured Division
MRD = Motor Rifle Division
That's all for now
Paul

Hi Paul
Thanks again. I must have got my version control stuffed coz I could swear I had already fixed some of those..... Dammit!
The final point (4) the write-up states it is a modernised version of the SA-7 so that one is OK.
I'll check my pdf variants and then re-list.

Hi Richard
Quick question: Is the Shilka a multiple barrelled light auto cannon? or a Vehicle with 4x light auto cannon?
many thanks

I'd use it as a multiple barrel light autocannon so it has a Rof of 10 and a max range of 50"
I hope that answers the question.

Hi Rich
I'm back!!
Just a quickie; in the MR Div list, the T.64 Plat (4 tanks) is only 9-r BR, should that be 12-BR (as it is in the T.80 and T.72 Plats, which also have 4 tanks each, and 12-r BR).
The T.80, T.72 and T.64 Coys are all 39-r BR (each with 13 tanks).
On the lookout for more.

Ahhh Paul - always good to hear from you!
Well spotted yet again - I've gone in and fixed that in my word version. I am slightly disapointed in you though! I checked further in the same section and noticed I had the T-62 platoon of 4 tanks rated a 6-i BR when they should have been 8-i BR. So I've fixed that too!

Hi Rich
I just prod you in the right direction
I'm in the middle of painting up some 15mm 1985ish Brits and Soviets, for the smaller scale games (6mm for bigger games).
As an aside: weren't the Warsaw Pact tanks and AT gun Platoons taught to fire at one target per Platoon?
ATGWs probably not, same with AA (both AAA and SAM).
Paul (still on the look out for more)

Hi Paul
All your edits are really useful so please keep it up!
You may be right about tank and AT gun platoons being taught to fire at the same target - I just feel in games terms this is two constrictive - forcing the player to play like a Soviet. I also did not want to create tank parks where three or four tanks are all track to track so they can get line-of-sight on the same target. I really hate that look!
Hope that explains the thinking.

I can see, and understand, your thinking now.
I hate 'TankParks' as well, so unreal.

Regarding Soviet T-62s
T-62A: A grand total of five T-62As entered service. The base mode" T-62 you're thinking of was simply the "T-62". Additionally, the T-62 was exported to a WaPa nation: Bulgaria.
T-62AK: Should be "T-62K", as above.
T-62M/T-62MB: These designations are wrong. The T-62M can launch the Bastion by default using its 1K13-2 sight. T-62Ms that weren't fitted with the 1K13-2 and couldn't fire Bastions were named "T-62M1". It's just like with the T-72B/T-72B1!
Soviet T-72s
T-72A: The T-72A was not the first T-72 production model. Some 4317 T-72 Ural and T-72 Ural-1s were built in the period 1973-1978. The T-72A entered service in 1979. (To get really picky, there were a number of transitional T-72 Ural-1s that had the Dolly Parton turret, so the T-72A wasn't better armoured than the best T-72 Ural-1s.)

Hi Eukie
Thanks for all that info. The T-72 stuff is pretty confusing! I'll will make these changes in my next edit.
Thanks

Hi Rich
Just a gentle reminder about the BMP1 Grom cannon needing a AP value rise. The Grom 73mm was linked with the SP9 recoiless rifle, so it should be around the SP9 AP rating.
This may need the points adjusting for the platoons and company, and recce patrol.
Thanks
Alex

Hey Richard,
some questions about the soviet naval list:
1) Naval Infantry Air Assault Platoon .
.....
Are the Helix transport helicopters armed or unarmed? I saw the stats for armed Helix but I`m not sure about that. I read some stuff where the helix transports are also proposed for "air artillery " support. That`s why I`m asking.
2) Tank section:
PT76 and T-55A platoons (3 tanks per platoon) are including an officer. Is that correct? I was wondering because normaly the companies (10 or even more tanks per company)of the WarPac Nations include an officer?
Short clarifications would be great. Thx
Best regards!

Transport: Entire Platoon and support lifted by 2 Ka-29

Hi Zauberlehrling
Perhaps I should have written Ka-29TB (Helix-B) rather than just Ka-29. My assumption has been that for air assaults the Soviet Naval Infantry would be using the armed version of the helicopter. I'm assuming that the Ka-27 Helix would be used for behind the action logistical work. So the Ka-29 can fly the troops in and then act as flying artillery under the right circumstances.
I see what the problem is. I've updated the SNI list on my blog and forgotten to update it here. Amongst other things in the most recently updated version both the PT-76 platoon and the T-55 platoon's have a Platoon Commander rather than an Officer. I'll go and change it right now so you can upload the latest version ( the problem of having all the lists in two places) or you can easily find it on my blog.
Sorry - my bad
Richard
