RoF German Rifle Squads

Guys, this just came up and I never noticed it before. What is the correct RoF for a German 6 man rifle squad with a MG-34?

My guess is that it would be 9, 4 for the rifles, + 5 for MG-34 and assistant gunner.  My friend said it was 5 for rifles + 3 for the MG-34 that there is no assistant gunner. I know it's only one shot difference, bit going from a 8 to a 9 can have a big impact on suppression fire.  Thanks.

Rules page 28:
a MG 34 has a crew of 2, therefore an assistant gunner (which cannot shoot assisting) and ROF 5 (bipod mount), range 30"
remain 4 soldiers with rifles (in a 6 men rifle squad) = ROF 4, range 30"
Total ROF 9, all range 30"

When the option of "adding" a mg-34 for +10 points. Does this mean 2 extra models for the mg crew? So a 6 man squad would now be an 8 man squad?
Or does it mean "replace" 2 squad members with an mg-34 crew?
