Deployed guns and casualties - do they affect ROF?
Sun Jul 08, 2018 12:15 am
Hi,
Under current rules MGs are affected by loss of crew men in terns of Rate of Fire reduction. Are guns affected at all?
If not, I had an idea whereby a gun with a single crew man:
1. Cannot move
2. Has to role a 5+ to fire second shot in an Open Fire order.
Ideas, comments?

No, they are not affected at all. Also, adding anything to make AT guns less effective is going to make them nearly useless. They are already really easy to spot and unless they are dug in with somewhat expensive defenses they are easily destroyed. Leave the rules as is.

Seconded, leave them alone. With the usual caveat....it is your game, if you want to try that rule, feel free to do so and report back how it worked out for you.

AT guns are expensive in points and easy to destroy, especially when only one crew is left (a pin is enough). So a further reduction of the RoF is often unneccessary (most of the time the gun crew will run away before reduced to one man). Also there are several historic cases, where an AT gun was succesfully operated by one man only.

Fair enough. An opponent raised it as an issue.
