What is a hit on a tank for tank riders

Hi all,

The rules state that any hit on a tank with tank riders forces the tank riders to debus and become pinned. We had the case where several tanks with tank riders were targeted by artillery and obtained a possible pin result. Although the tanks did not become pinned we played that all the tank riders debused and became pinned. Is this correct?

When the rules refer to a "hit" in that case, they make reference to a direct hit.
So,, in your case, the tank riders would not have to debuss. Because the tanks only received a pinning hit, not a direct hit.
