Cats in Normandy

In trying to play Villers-Bocage the German player should have up to 4 Tiger I tanks including Wittmann (as a Panzer Ace).
But - it's only possible to take a Tiger I FHQ and a Tiger I platoon (3 tanks incl. Officer) in using the Kursk Panzer BG list.
This list is meant for Eastern Front 1943, but is it valid for Normandy 1944 too ?
Or is there another list or supplement or the like which I don't know ?
The same problem with the 654.Pz.Jg.Abt. (Jagdpanther).
You can have a Panther FHQ + Panther tank(s) (you only need one for the S.i.C.), but only 1 Jagdpanther (the mainstay of this unit), cause it's Unique (??).
And again: is there another list or supplement or the like which I don't know ?

There’s Overlord and Beyond the Beaches which cover Normandy, assuming you’re not familiar with them already.

Well, yes, I'm familiar with all of these books, but they only "cover" the spectrum "Normandy".
But they are not the "one and only bible of all units in Normandy 1944".
So maybe you didn't understand my post(s), cause the question(s) were ................ concerning special units not covered in these books/lists or not beeing possible to play in complete historical stats only using these books.

I ignore the army lists to suit the historical battle I'm playing. I record BR but don't bother with points.

Your examples are both 'special case' scenarios featuring specific units rather than 'generic' German forces for the period - the lists are designed to make 'plausible' forces rather than actual OOBs for some of the heavier units - if you want to game those events then you should ignore the lists and play with the actuals units involved.

Perhaps the method described by Wingfield-Haze is the best when playing organized, planned (not pickup) Battlegroup games. I do the same.

It's a historical engagement... why use the list restrictions?

our group wants to stage a campaign around Caen 1944
historically based
lists allowed: Overlord only
but: some of these (historical) batttlegroups are only possible with lists from Kursk etc pp
question clear ?

If you want to take full platoons of Tigers and/or Jagdpanthers for Normandy, just do it.
Price them accordingly.
The price for the Tiger platoon, you can find it in the Kursk book.
For the Jagdpanthers, just add the price of three Jagdpanthers together and make one of them an officer.
I would make each of the tanks consume a restricted slot, and also make them unique. But that´s me. You can make as you wish.
There is no supplement or book who has more info/lists that you may use for this.
Hope that helps you.
Best Regards,
Diego

Thanks, Diego, it's exactly what I would do.
