timed barrage
Sun Mar 04, 2018 7:54 am
Hello everybody,
as we always seem to have conflicting ideas, I tought I'd ask here.
A timed barrage is noted down as a pre-registered target.
A pre-registered target does not have to roll for accuracy, but it says in timed barrage that it is resolved as standard artillery rules. It seems a bit conflicting. My personal opinion is that it is just like any other artillery except for timing, orders and spotter point (without a spotter).
Can somebody clear this?
thanks

The target point is pre-determined, so you skip straight the 'Fire For Effect' step.

Standard artillery rules... so then firing bit.
Don't forget the Comms Test and Barrage accuracy rolls are technically your Spotters orders.
So a Timed Barrage juat hits it's specified location... and you roll per gun firing.

Hi Pierce,
I'm a bit confused here. I have a file (I think from the previous forum) - entitled '20121207 - Indirect artillery fire sequence' - which clearly states that you roll for barrage accuracy in the case of a 'Timed Pre-Registered Target'. That file seemed very complete, but is that file wrong??
cheers

Further to this, if I buy a timed barrage of a 4 gun battery, does it cost me any orders during the game, or does it just happen?

Timed Barrages do not cost orders.
Firing at a PRTP does not require a barrage accuracy test.
