What is SR Runner?

has anyone an idea what the Special Rule "Runner" does?

Cannot find anything about that.

Here the sp.rule for runners
"Lacking radios in the front line,
runners were used to carry messages.
A Platoon HQ with the Runner special rule may, when given an
order, remove a single model. The
Platoon HQ then counts as having
the Mortar Spotter special rule for the
rest of this turn only. The following
Communications test will be rolled
on a 2+. This test cannot be re-rolled."
