Draft No. 1 - Dutch 1(NL) Corps List Empty Draft No. 1 - Dutch 1(NL) Corps List

Tue Mar 20, 2018 2:15 am
Hi Guys

Here is my first draft Dutch 1(NL) Corps List.  It's a no frills version with no pics and no glossary.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=10xwInQhtBi3AKyQxGE9K8z2K_oitS7Er

Looking forward to feedback, corrections, things I've left out or should not have included etc. I'm now working on the Dutch AFV Data Table.

Thanks

Richard

Lovely list. Only thing I'm missing is the M38A1C Tow jeep for recconaissance.

Really fired up now to get my Dutch out of storage and start finishing them.

Thanks for spotting that Johan. I found the TOW Jeep in orbat85.nl but it mentions it in relation to the Infantry Battalion of an Infantry Brigade - not in a recce unit. I was going to add it as a platoon support option for that Corps rear area infantry platoon - or do you still think it sits better in Recce?

Questions arising from putting together the AFVstats:

1. Is the YP-408 series amphibious?
2. Did the AMX-13/FL-15 have any night fighting system other than a White Light/Infrared Searchlight? I can't see any reference to stabilisation etc. Is that right?

Thanks

1. Not amphibious
2. I'll get back to you on that.

Just stick it in the rear area platoon, maybe as an upgrade for X points from the RR version M38

Thanks Johan. I've added the TOW armed M38A1 to the list.

Here's the next question for you. It appears that the M113 C&V with the 25mm autocannon did not have a co-axial machine-gun. Is that true?

Thanks

Richard

Indeed no Coax. The 50 cal version did come with a FN-MAG, and was amphibious. With the 25mm turret on top, it gained submarine like qualities.

AMX-13 is the 105mm version with a coax MAG, has a FN-MAG on a pintle for the commander with a White Light, and a side turret mounted Infra red light for the main gun. It has the FL-12H turret though, and the system was phased out in 1983.

OK - great - thanks. I think I'll keep it in the list as it show's up in Isby's book on NATO and it's kinda cool in an old fashioned kind of way. Who doesn't like a 105mm gun on a tank with paper thin armour!

Considering my Government either throws away brandnew stuff in a heartbeat of keeps old tat on stock waiting for the right buyer for ages, I would not be too surprised to find them in MOB complexes for quite a while. And you are costing me enough money as is as I now need to scout for 1-2 105mm AMX and some additional vehicles for my Territorials (aka Nationale Reserve)

Well I do feel your pain. My problem is every time I do a new list I start planning how I'm going to do a force for that list... I'm just feeding my own addiction!

b) will make me harass SandS for the YP-408 they promised 4 years ago
c) cost me money

Hi Johan. That should be fixed now. Thanks for pointing it out.

a) Well I remember how good your Dutch looked from years ago - so I'm keen to see them out and in a playtest game.

b) Yes - harass Shaun and maybe he can put his YPR-765's back on the website

C) Sorry about that! Evil or Very Mad
