Running WIP everything post :)

on Mon Jun 25, 2018 11:36 am
Got a box of incomplete kits from a friend, so turning those into useful stuff now.

Starting with a Matchbox 1/76 Panzer 2C, which now has a new lease of life as a MG Bunker.

And more progress on my S-Model German H38 for anti Partisan duty - stowage box from the PSC Honey sprue and a Trench skid from the S-Model French H38. Needs some chain and a commander.

Dragged a older conversion from the WIP box and started uparmouring it with sandbags. Will need a ton of work before it is done....Zimmerit, 2 crew, personal weapons, large cargo space on the back with munitions, and a towed fueltrailer

The sandbags are indeed greenstuff. Yeah, sure, I can do a tutorial on those, give me a bit of time though, going on a holiday for a week and it is a tad busy Smile

Back home again, and running in a completely different direction. WIP of course.

Fahrschulpanzer.....due to the dire lack of pictures my solution is as good as I can make it. A bit of fantasy perhgaps, but a interesting model none the less....

Trying to get my painting mojo back by doping something simple so I made some bog standard 40K ish Gorka Morka desert scenery.

And then some more...

And 2 more...

As soon as I have sufficient coatings of filler on it, I'll sand the lot and start gritting the bases.

Very cool. Never played Gorka Morka but I did used to have a large WH40k Ork army (plus I still run a Orc Bloodbowl Team).

Well, it is more generic deserty stuff anyway, that way I can use it for 15mm as well as 20mm and 28mm. Anyway, need to give them a good clean to remove the dust and then basecoat them.

So tonight I did something a bit different.

One of the worst models I had the pleasure of assembling. Flash, excess metal between the tracks, mould lines, incomplete cast rack covering the engine. Rmoved the armour plates from the drivers area, sanded it down and replaced with flat plates from plasticcard. Britannia car passenger trimmed and modded as a driver (just needs some goggles). Added the missing horn next to the headlight.

Final details, then paint, and I have a new Barbarossa 37mm/50mm AT gun tractor.

What is the tractor Johan? Captured kit or something German?

Laurence: Belgian Vickers Tractor. Used as Beute. Read a article about one abandoned by German troops stationed in Belgium while retreating from the Canadians in 1944. I think this one will join my Volksgrenadeers and my Renault UEs can go to the Eastern Front.

More rocks.

Started to factoryline them as some friends have expressed interest in buying a set and well, I got all the gear out anyway, might as well use it.

I don't just paint Hstoricals, I also paint stuff I find at yardsales. I call it the 50 Cent Challenge - buy something in between 0 and 1 euro (or local currency) from Goodlwill or a fleamerket etc and make it look good.

Nice! cheers

Which reminds me, I have a bunch of pseudo-Hawaiian mock-totem pole pieces I bought for the same reason. I really should do something with them.

Skulls for the skullpile! Bought this at a show for 50 cents and I would like more of them.

And now for something completely different.

15mm HVSS M4A3 105mm getting readied for service in the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Needs a bit of greenstuff work on the mantlet, a tarp on the back and a commander. Not sure why Battlefront chose to give it a tiny turret.
