Timecast buildings for Arnhem
Wed May 23, 2018 7:01 am
These buildings from Timecast turned up too late for the Battlegroup Market garden weekend, and I wasn't sure about the size. They have now been painted and I'm still not convinced. They are sold as 18/20mm, I've displayed them with my 20mm figures.
Arnhem cottages, the front door is 15mm high by 5mm, definitely undersize.
Foy house & barn, the house door is 18mm x 11mm so the close to the advertised scale. The small barn doors are 20mm x 7mm so the right height, but too narrow
The overall height/bulk of the Arnhem church is fine, but the main door is only 22mm x 14mm.
The back door is 18mm x 8mm.
They are very heavy, and attempting to dry-brush the brickwork is a pain as it is so fine. Because they are not now critical to any game, I'll probably copy them and then sell them to a more appreciative home.

These looks good, but definitely better for 15mm
have the same problem with Loic Neveu (cocorico) productions, a bit too short for 20mm;;

Timecast might sell a few more if they pitched them at 15mm players, who would presumably be happy with these models, less satisfaction for 20mm players!
Very nicely done, especially the stone work on the church. Lovely!
Cheers, Andy

Will - I may be interested for my 1/144 stuff, need to try a few bases and vehicles next to them - probably not at the club this week or next due to work (ironically in Holland!).

Forewarned is forearmed.
Not good that they are being sold as 20mm.
Oddly, 15mm buildings can sometimes work with 20mm figures; I have some shops from Sarissa in 15mm that look ok.
