Alternate way of handling Reserve Move/Ambush Fire
Thu Apr 19, 2018 3:26 pm
I've run a couple of Modern/Sci-Fi games now where I have taken the Reserve Move/Ambush Fire mechanics and tweaked them a bit for play.
1. You can sacrifice one action now to go on ambush/reserve later instead of the all/none
2. You can mix and match (ie, move-fire/move-move/fire-fire)
3. You put the tokens face down and don't reveal to your opponent what you're going to do until you do it.
My experience is that it adds a cool bit of friction to the fighting....
Here is a link to a game I ran with this mechanic
Anyone else try this out?

I like this idea.
Your opponent knows that some of your units will react, but he doesn’t know how.
